Committees promote and arrange extracurricular activities that highlight the African-American experience.

Club Committees

Archives Committee Collecting, selecting, weeding, arranging and filing the ACES archival material.


Audit Committee Examines the financial records of the Treasurer and Financial Secretary once a year or as deemed necessary by the President. Prepares a report for the November Executive Board and General Membership Meeting.

 
Bylaws Committee Review and recommend changes in the bylaws. Investigates and makes recommendations regarding grievances presented by a member.

 
Cultural Committee Promote and arrange extracurricular activities that highlight the African-American experience.


Educational Committee Develop and implement programs and activities which will provide members with the opportunity to achieve the level of knowledge and skill necessary to serve the public with competence and professionalism.


Executive Committee This group is comprised of members of the board.

 

Finance Committee Ensures that funds flow into the treasury, plans and oversees projects for fundraising, prepares a yearly budget and presents at the annual meeting. Provide short- and long-term financial oversight for the organization.


Membership Committee Responsible for recruiting new members and providing orientation.


Nomination Committee Develop a slate of officers for presentation at the May general meeting. Prepares ballots and oversees the election of officers at the June general membership meeting. Duties typically include recruiting candidates to fill senior board positions.


Social Committee Develops social events for the general membership and the greater Sun City Peachtree community.


Technology Committee Develop a plan to fully use the software we have invested in as ACES. Also, tasked with helping the board, committees and membership with the technical level of use necessary to function as an organization.


Travel Committee Plan all trip details (e.g., transportation, meals, hotels, attractions). Negotiate agreements and contracts and give them to staff to process. Create a budget for each trip and determine the fee for each trip.
